QA Analyst - Banking

AaraTech Inc

Job Description & Details

This is a solid early-career QA role focused on financial tech, specifically working on banking and card services. You will spend your days breaking payment workflows and validating that money and data move accurately through the system without errors.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend a good chunk of your day executing manual test cases, digging into payment and card transaction workflows, and logging whatever breaks into JIRA. Expect to partner closely with developers to reproduce tricky transaction bugs, run regression suites, and support UAT phases. It's hands-on testing where missing a minor detail could mean a major compliance headache, so your focus needs to be sharp.

The Core Tech Stack

You don't need a massive enterprise stack here, but you do need to be fluent in the fundamentals. Manual testing methodologies and JIRA are your daily drivers. Beyond that, you need a firm grasp of basic SQL to query databases and validate report accuracy, plus domain knowledge in banking apps, payment processing, and card transaction validation to understand what success actually looks like in a financial system.

Interview Expectations

Expect them to throw a tricky scenario at you involving a failed payment transaction workflow and ask how you would isolate whether the bug lives in the front-end UI, the API payload, or the backend database. The interviewer is secretly checking your methodical approach to troubleshooting and whether you understand how data flows through a financial application. Another common angle will be testing your SQL limits, where they might ask you to write a basic query to verify transaction records against an expected result set to see if your data validation skills are legitimate.

Application Advice

When tailoring your resume for this role, make sure you explicitly highlight your hands-on experience with banking domain applications and payment workflows rather than just listing generic QA tasks. Weave keywords like manual testing, JIRA defect tracking, regression suites, and basic SQL queries directly into your recent job bullets. The ATS is going to scan for financial domain keywords, so front-loading your resume with terms like card transaction validation and UAT support will help you easily clear the initial screening.
