Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on, build-heavy contract role where you'll own an employee knowledge management system from a blank slate all the way to production handoff. You'll be bridging the gap between heavy enterprise documentation (think a 72-page design spec) and actual working infrastructure using SharePoint, Appian, and modern AI tooling. If you like autonomy and building systems that people actually have to use every day, this is a fun one.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You're essentially acting as the architect and primary builder for a massive internal content overhaul, migrating and tagging over a thousand core documents while working across 15+ product lines. Your day-to-day will involve wrangling SharePoint's annoying enterprise limitations, writing robust Power Automate flows, and configuring Appian backends to handle complex approval and assessment workflows. You will also tie in AI services like Copilot Studio and Claude to handle automated content tagging and metadata generation so the platform doesn't become a digital graveyard.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep, battle-tested expertise in SharePoint development and Appian workflows because you'll be pushing both platforms to their limits. On top of that, you must have solid experience integrating LLMs and AI/ML services for content management—specifically hooking up tools like Claude or Copilot Studio for intelligent metadata tagging. Power BI proficiency is also non-negotiable for building out the reporting infrastructure, alongside Power Automate to glue everything together seamlessly.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to ask you how you've handled SharePoint's rigid out-of-the-box limitations in past enterprise builds, so have a specific war story ready about a time you had to hack together a Power Automate and custom UI workaround. They are secretly testing whether you can actually execute independently without needing your hand held through technical roadblocks. They will also likely drill you on your experience structuring messy documentation taxonomies, looking for someone who understands how relational data models apply to unstructured corporate knowledge.
Application Advice
To get past the ATS for this role, your resume needs to explicitly feature the heavy hitters mentioned in the stack: SharePoint enterprise architecture, Appian workflow development, Power Automate, and concrete examples of AI/ML integration for content tagging. Don't just list these as bullet points; frame your past experience around end-to-end delivery and migration projects where you took ownership from concept to production handoff.
