Cyber Security Analyst - Banking

AaraTech Inc

Job Description & Details

This is a solid foundational role for an early-career security analyst looking to break into the high-stakes banking sector. You will spend your days in the trenches of security operations, filtering out the noise to protect sensitive financial data and transaction systems.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend a significant chunk of your day staring at SIEM dashboards, triaging security alerts, and investigating potential threats like phishing attempts, malware, and unauthorized access attempts. Beyond reactive monitoring, you will actively assist with vulnerability assessments, help manage Identity & Access Management (IAM) workflows, and support compliance and audit activities essential for financial institutions.

The Core Tech Stack

You need a firm grip on SIEM tools, EDR solutions, and standard network security components like firewalls and IDS/IPS. AaraTech expects you to be comfortable navigating both Windows and Linux environments, and having baseline exposure to AWS cloud security is a major plus since banking infrastructure continues to shift to the cloud.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to throw a real-world scenario at you, such as tracing a potential phishing email to see what systems were compromised and asking how you would prioritize containment. They are secretly looking for methodical problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure rather than just memorized textbook definitions.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS, your resume needs to explicitly feature keywords like SIEM, incident response, vulnerability management, and threat detection. Frame your previous experience around outcomes—highlight any specific alerts you have investigated, logs you have analyzed, or compliance frameworks you have touched.
