Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting, long-term Business Analyst contract that requires someone who can walk into ambiguous enterprise projects and immediately bring order to chaos. You will serve as the crucial translation layer between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams for a solid two-year engagement. If you thrive in fully remote environments and know how to drive alignment across distributed teams without getting bogged down by red tape, this one is worth your time.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will be a mix of deep stakeholder interviews, whiteboarding complex workflows, and breaking down vague business problems into crisp user stories and functional specs. You'll spend a lot of time running requirement-gathering workshops, doing gap analyses between current and future state processes, and riding shotgun with developers and QA to make sure nothing gets lost in translation. Expect to manage backlog prioritization, handle UAT triage, and constantly bridge the communication gap between non-technical business leaders and hardcore engineers.
The Core Tech Stack
To survive here, you need to be an absolute power user of JIRA, Confluence, and Visio for documentation and backlog management. The team relies heavily on your ability to map out processes and write bulletproof functional specs, user stories, and BRDs. Having basic SQL skills and familiarity with enterprise platforms like ERP or CRM is going to be your secret weapon to quickly query data, validate assumptions, and earn the technical team's respect right out of the gate.
Interview Expectations
When you sit down with the hiring manager, expect them to test your ability to handle scope creep and difficult stakeholders by asking how you'd manage a project where business requirements change mid-sprint. They want to see that you can push back diplomatically and document changes cleanly. They'll also likely probe your gap analysis methodology, so be prepared to walk them through a past project where you took a completely broken, ambiguous workflow and systematically turned it into an optimized, high-performing process.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to heavily feature the keywords 'Requirements Elicitation', 'Gap Analysis', 'User Stories', and 'Backlog Management' right at the top to clear the automated screening. Don't just list your past job titles; explicitly mention your years of experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments, and highlight any major enterprise platforms or ERP implementations you've supported. Frame your past achievements around how your documentation directly reduced rework and kept projects on schedule.
