Data Analyst - Banking

AaraTech Inc

Job Description & Details

If you have a couple of years of data experience and want to pivot deeper into fintech and banking analytics, this role at AaraTech Inc is a solid stepping stone. You will be hands-on with transaction data and reporting, giving you a clear view of how digital payments and banking platforms operate under the hood.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend a good chunk of your day writing SQL queries to pull data, reconciling discrepancies, and turning those numbers into readable dashboards using Tableau or Power BI. You will work closely with business stakeholders to figure out what KPIs actually matter, track trends, and handle those inevitable ad-hoc data requests that pop up right before a leadership meeting. It is very much an execution-focused role where data cleanliness and accuracy are your top priorities.

The Core Tech Stack

SQL and advanced Excel are non-negotiable here since you will be pulling and manipulating raw transaction data daily. You also need solid proficiency in either Tableau or Power BI to build dashboards that non-technical stakeholders can easily digest. Previous exposure to banking data or financial analytics is a huge plus because understanding financial transactions, validation, and reconciliation flows will save you a massive learning curve.

Interview Expectations

Expect the interviewers to test your SQL chops with some complex joins, aggregations, and window functions applied to financial data scenarios. They will also likely ask you to walk through a dashboard you built in the past, focusing heavily on why you chose specific visualizations to communicate business metrics rather than just how pretty it looks. They want to see that you understand the business impact behind the charts.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS and grab the recruiter's attention, make sure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on experience with SQL, Excel, and dashboard creation tools. Don't just list the tools—quantify your impact by mentioning the size of the datasets you worked with, the types of KPI reports you owned, and any specific financial or transaction data experience you bring to the table.
