What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days bridging the gap between business requirements and technical execution, leading the end-to-end data migration lifecycle. Your real job is to anticipate where data objects will fail, manage dependencies across various modules, and keep the migration timeline from slipping while dealing with shifting stakeholder expectations.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep hands-on experience with SAP data objects, cross-functional integration, and the underlying dependencies that cause load errors. Knowing how to map legacy systems to S/4HANA or ECC equivalents while managing data quality rules is non-negotiable here.
Interview Expectations
Expect them to throw a real-world scenario at you where a critical data object fails validation right before go-live, testing how you triage dependencies and communicate the risk to non-technical leadership. The hiring manager is secretly looking for someone who doesn't panic, can own the data strategy autonomously, and knows how to push back on unrealistic business demands without burning bridges.
