IT Project Manager

Job Description & Details

This is a solid, hands-on IT Project Manager role focused on steering cloud initiatives and driving full SDLC execution without getting bogged down in endless bureaucracy. You will be acting as the connective tissue between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that deliverables actually ship on time and make sense for the bottom line.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will revolve around untangling complex project dependencies, running Agile ceremonies like Scrum or Kanban, and keeping cloud migration or deployment efforts on track. You will spend a good chunk of your time translating vague business objectives into concrete project plans, managing scope creep, and forecasting risks before they turn into fires. Expect to coordinate closely with engineering teams while keeping leadership updated with clear, no-nonsense metrics.

The Core Tech Stack

You need to be intimately familiar with the end-to-end SDLC and Agile frameworks, specifically Scrum and Kanban. Proficiency in Microsoft Project and the usual Office suite is a non-negotiable baseline, but familiarity with cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modern PPM tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, or Clarity will make or break your ability to run these projects effectively. Prior exposure to regulated industries like healthcare or finance is a massive plus because it means you already know how to handle compliance and security hurdles.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to ask you to describe a time a critical project went completely off the rails due to scope creep and how you brought it back without alienating the stakeholders. They are secretly looking for your pragmatic approach to risk management, boundary-setting, and communication under pressure rather than textbook definitions of Agile. They will also likely test your technical literacy around cloud migrations and SDLC bottlenecks, so be ready to talk specifics about how you manage critical-path dependencies.

Application Advice

When updating your resume for this role, skip the generic project manager buzzwords and lead with hard numbers—highlight the exact size of the budgets, teams, and cloud projects you have successfully delivered. Make sure keywords like 'Agile', 'SDLC', 'cloud technologies', 'risk management', and any specific PPM tools you know are prominently featured to easily clear the ATS filters. Tie your past achievements directly to measurable business outcomes so the hiring team immediately sees your impact.
