Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on, contract-based Senior Revenue Accountant role where you'll immediately jump into NetSuite to handle month-end close and SOX compliance workpapers. It's a solid gig for someone who knows ASC 606 inside and out and isn't afraid to untangle complex billing bottlenecks.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend your days driving audit-ready SOX control workbooks to completion, preparing deal summaries for significant contracts, and executing monthly close activities like journal entries and account reconciliations. Expect to collaborate heavily with cross-functional teams to streamline the Order-to-Cash cycle, help forecast collections, and assist with User Acceptance Testing for new product rollouts.
The Core Tech Stack
You absolutely need strong proficiency in NetSuite, advanced Excel skills (think complex formulas and massive data sets), and working knowledge of Salesforce. On the accounting side, a deep, practical understanding of ASC 606 and SOX compliance is non-negotiable since your workpapers will be heavily scrutinized during audits.
Interview Expectations
You'll likely be asked to walk through how you handle a complex contract review under ASC 606, specifically dealing with variable consideration or multiple performance obligations. The hiring manager is looking to see if you can explain technical accounting concepts simply and tie them back to operational realities. They'll also test your NetSuite and advanced Excel capabilities to ensure you can hit the ground running without hand-holding.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume heavily highlights your hands-on NetSuite experience and specific achievements dealing with ASC 606 and SOX compliance. Use keywords like "Order-to-Cash", "account reconciliations", and "SOX control workbooks" to get past the initial ATS filters, and emphasize any Big 4 background or your CPA certification if you have them.
