Senior Revenue Accountant

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on temporary contract for a Senior Revenue Accountant who can jump straight into the weeds of revenue close and SOX controls without needing hand-holding. If you know your way around ASC 606 and can wrangle messy data in NetSuite, this is a straightforward gig where your accounting chops will be put to the test immediately.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days driving audit-ready SOX control workbooks, handling monthly close deliverables in NetSuite, and analyzing complex customer contracts under ASC 606. Expect to get your hands dirty with collection forecasting, AR management, and preparing quarterly footnotes that actually tie back to the general ledger. You will also partner cross-functionally to streamline the Order-to-Cash cycle, troubleshoot billing bottlenecks, and help test new product implementations.

The Core Tech Stack

NetSuite and advanced Excel are your bread and butter here, alongside Salesforce for deal context. The team heavily relies on your ability to build complex spreadsheets with clean data validation and large datasets that can survive rigorous audit scrutiny. Deep familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition rules and strict SOX compliance frameworks are absolute non-negotiables for keeping this accounting engine running smoothly.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to test your practical application of ASC 606 with a scenario involving multi-element arrangements or significant contract modifications, where they are secretly looking to see if you can explain the 'why' behind the accounting treatment rather than just reciting textbook rules. You'll also likely field questions on how you handle deficient SOX controls or messy reconciliations in NetSuite under tight month-end deadlines, so be ready to share specific war stories from past closes.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume screams NetSuite proficiency and explicitly highlights your hands-on experience building audit-ready SOX workpapers from scratch. Sprinkle in keywords like ASC 606, Order-to-Cash, and account reconciliations so you easily clear the ATS filters, and emphasize any past project work where you successfully streamlined financial processes or collaborated with cross-functional teams.
