SAP RAR Functional Support Analyst

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on post-go-live production support role for an SAP RAR implementation handling subscription billing modernization. You will be knee-deep in troubleshooting complex revenue recognition workflows, ensuring that legacy migration data maps accurately to SAP while keeping finance and engineering teams unblocked. If you know ASC 606 and BRF+ inside and out, this is a solid, long-term contract to lock down.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days triaging production incidents, debugging contract modifications, and running down allocation or posting discrepancies across wholesale, retail, and subscription models. You'll act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, working directly with OTC, GL, ABAP, and BTP integration engineers to trace data from source transactions all the way through to final accounting results. When something breaks in the revenue pipeline, you are the one performing the root cause analysis and pushing out permanent fixes.

The Core Tech Stack

You need deep, battle-tested expertise in SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR), specifically configuration, BRF+ rules, and ASC 606 / IFRS 15 compliance standards. The team relies on your ability to untangle interface-driven landscapes where source systems talk to SAP, so strong integration chops and financial data reconciliation skills are non-negotiable if you want to survive the day-to-day triage.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to throw a complex contract modification scenario at you to see how SAP RAR handles the reallocation of remaining performance obligations. They want to hear you walk through the exact steps of debugging a failed inbound payload from a source system, checking BRF+ decision tables, and validating the resulting postings in the GL. They aren't looking for textbook definitions; they want to know your exact methodology for diagnosing and resolving a high-severity production incident under pressure.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to heavily feature the exact technical terms found in this listing—specifically highlighting your hands-on work with SAP RAR configuration, BRF+, contract modifications, and ASC 606 compliance. Don't just list modules you've touched; write concise bullets about specific production support incidents you resolved, legacy-to-SAP migrations you supported, and cross-functional teams you collaborated with. Make sure your experience with end-to-end financial reconciliation and interface troubleshooting jumps off the page to clear the ATS on the first pass.
