Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty enterprise PPM gig focused heavily on the business side of pharma and clinical project management. You are stepping in to wrangle stakeholders, fix broken workflows, and keep complex project tracking functional for teams that actually build things. It's a long-term contract where your ability to translate messy business requirements into clean Planisware configurations will make or break the engagement.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend a solid chunk of your week leading requirements workshops, fielding user complaints during office hours, and untangling messy project plans. You'll be knee-deep in configuring Planisware, adjusting project templates, fixing OnePager layouts, and maintaining data integrity across baselines and resource management views. A big part of the grind involves acting as the bridge between technical IT folks and non-technical project managers, prepping steering committee decks, and running user training sessions so people actually know how to use the system without breaking it.
The Core Tech Stack
Your bread and butter here is Planisware PPM, and you need to know it inside and out, specifically within a pharma or clinical trial tracking environment. They don't just want someone who can click buttons; they need an expert who understands resource management, project baselining, synchronization, and reporting mechanics. Familiarity with OnePager Pro for visualization and a strong grasp of data quality frameworks in enterprise PPM environments are absolute non-negotiables for surviving this role.
Interview Expectations
When you get on the call, expect them to ask you how you handle stubborn stakeholders who demand custom configurations that completely violate out-of-the-box best practices. The hiring manager is secretly testing your ability to say "no" diplomatically while guiding them toward scalable, maintainable solutions instead of building a fragile house of cards. They'll also likely hit you with a scenario about troubleshooting a massive resource allocation bottleneck or a corrupted project baseline, looking to see if your debugging methodology is systematic or if you just start clicking randomly until something works.
Application Advice
Skip the generic project management fluff and put Planisware front and center on your resume, explicitly highlighting your experience with pharmaceutical or clinical implementations. Make sure you drop exact keywords like "resource management," "baselining," "OnePager template," and "data quality" right into your experience bullets so you clear the ATS on the first pass. If you've spent time running office hours or leading end-user training for enterprise PPM tools, emphasize that heavily because they want someone who can talk to humans just as well as they can configure software.
