Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty 12-month contract focused on designing, scaling, and maintaining complex integrations using the MuleSoft ESB platform. You won't just be writing basic APIs; you'll act as a core technical anchor bridging disparate systems like Salesforce, Oracle, and legacy tech stacks.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days knee-deep in Anypoint Studio, crafting robust data flows, managing asynchronous messaging, and optimizing data transformations with DataWeave 2.0. You will collaborate directly with stakeholders and vendor teams to untangle legacy integration challenges, troubleshoot stubborn production bugs, and enforce enterprise-grade security and governance standards. A significant portion of your time will also be dedicated to reviewing code, establishing reusable assets like centralized error handling, and ensuring everything scales cleanly in sandbox and production environments.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute fluency in the MuleSoft ecosystem—specifically Anypoint Platform, CloudHub, and DataWeave 2.0. Beyond MuleSoft, the environment heavily intersects with Java, C#/.NET Core, Salesforce, Oracle, and Snowflake. Because you'll be building connectors and integrating across multiple platforms, a strong foundational knowledge of RESTful and SOAP APIs along with JavaScript is non-negotiable.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to throw a complex scenario at you regarding API-led connectivity and ask how you would structure error handling and logging for high-throughput streaming data across multiple disparate systems like Salesforce and Oracle. They are secretly testing your architectural foresight and want to see if you design for reusability and failure resilience rather than just making it work on the first pass. You will also likely be grilled on DataWeave performance tuning, specifically how you handle memory management and payload transformations with massive datasets.
Application Advice
Skip the generic summaries and tailor your resume to scream 'integration architect.' Make sure keywords like DataWeave 2.0, CloudHub, Anypoint Platform, and API-led connectivity are prominently featured and tied directly to measurable achievements in past enterprise roles. If you've previously orchestrated integrations between legacy systems and modern cloud tools like Salesforce or Snowflake, put that right at the top of your experience bullets to immediately clear the initial ATS filter.
