Lead Salesforce Developer

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting Lead Salesforce Developer gig based out of New York where you won't just be writing Apex all day; you'll actually be driving architectural decisions and automation strategies. If you enjoy untangling legacy Salesforce implementations, scaling robust LWC applications, and occasionally dealing with Financial Services Cloud, this role gives you plenty of technical autonomy.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days designing and delivering secure, production-grade Salesforce code while guiding engineering standards across the team. Expect to balance hands-on development—like building complex Flows, Triggers, and Lightning Web Components—with code reviews and troubleshooting operational snags. You'll also interface with stakeholders and evaluate third-party tools, meaning you need to communicate technical trade-offs clearly without hiding behind jargon.

The Core Tech Stack

To survive here, you need to be exceptionally comfortable with native Salesforce development using Apex, LWC, Aura, and asynchronous processing. You'll also live and die by SOQL optimization and robust REST/Bulk API integrations. Beyond writing code, a deep practical grasp of CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows (Bitbucket), and agile tracking (JIRA) is non-negotiable since automation and deployment speed are major metrics for success.

Interview Expectations

The hiring team will likely push you on architectural resilience and scaling limits. They might ask you to walk through a scenario where a complex synchronous Apex transaction hits governor limits and how you would refactor it using Async Apex and Platform Events. The interviewer is secretly testing whether you can think holistically about system performance rather than just throwing code at a problem. Another common angle will involve security models; expect questions on how you manage sharing rules, permission sets, and custom metadata for multi-layered enterprise environments.

Application Advice

Skip the generic template and tailor your resume to immediately highlight your enterprise-grade Salesforce chops. Make sure exact keywords like Lightning Web Components (LWC), Apex, CI/CD, and Financial Services Cloud are visible near the top of your experience bullets. Don't just list what you built; emphasize the scale of the user base, how you automated repetitive remediation tasks, and your direct involvement in the SDLC to breeze through the automated screening filters.
