Full Stack Developer (PHP/Python)

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a solid hybrid full-stack role based out of Menlo Park where you'll be bridging the gap between heavy backend Python/PHP/Hack services and a modern React frontend. If you enjoy building scalable web applications and aren't afraid to dive into older PHP codebases while also writing clean Python and modern JavaScript, this gig is worth a serious look.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days collaborating directly with product managers and designers to ship new features and optimize existing systems. Expect to write robust backend APIs, wire them up to a React UI, and spend a good chunk of time troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and ensuring your code is well-tested. It's a cross-functional environment, so you'll be actively participating in code reviews, architectural debates, and deployment pipelines.

The Core Tech Stack

You'll need a strong command of PHP and Python for backend logic, alongside React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript for the frontend. Familiarity with Hack is a notable plus given their stack. On top of that, you must be comfortable querying relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL and managing version control with Git. They're looking for someone who doesn't just push code, but understands how to build scalable, highly available web applications from the database up to the browser.

Interview Expectations

Expect the interviewers to probe deeply into how you handle state management in React and optimize slow database queries in PostgreSQL or MySQL. They want to see if you can architect a clean RESTful API from scratch in Python or PHP while keeping maintainability and performance in mind. When you hit a wall with a legacy system, the hiring manager is secretly looking for systematic debugging methods rather than trial-and-error guessing.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume clearly highlights your hands-on experience with both PHP/Python on the backend and React on the frontend. Don't just list technologies; weave in specific keywords from the job description like "RESTful APIs," "scalable web applications," and "relational databases" to easily breeze through the automated ATS filters. Emphasize any past work involving automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, or performance optimization to show you can hit the ground running.
