Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on release governance role where you will be the final gatekeeper for SAP-MD changes heading into production. If you enjoy wrangling transport requests, keeping complex deployment calendars on track, and herding technical teams across Basis and QA, this gig will keep you busy. It is strictly onsite in Maple Grove, meaning you will be face-to-face with the cross-functional project teams driving these releases.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days managing release calendars, leading high-stakes go/no-go meetings, and keeping a tight grip on transport migrations moving from Development through PRT, QA, and finally into Production. Expect to coordinate heavily with SAP Basis, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure cutover planning goes smoothly. You will also handle emergency changes when things break and run post-release validation to ensure the environment stays stable.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep, battle-tested experience with SAP Transport Management and change governance. Mastery of SAP-MD landscape flows (Dev to Prod) is non-negotiable here, alongside a solid understanding of cutover planning and release readiness frameworks. You'll also need to speak the language of validation and compliance teams since this environment clearly requires structured change approvals.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to ask you to walk through a time when a critical transport failed during a production cutover and how you managed the go/no-go decision under pressure. They want to see if you can handle angry stakeholders while calmly coordinating with Basis to back out or fix the issue. They will also likely test your knowledge of dependency mapping across complex SAP landscapes to ensure you can spot hidden risks before they hit the schedule.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume screams SAP transport management, release governance, and cross-functional coordination. Drop specific keywords like 'transport migrations', 'cutover planning', and 'go/no-go meetings' right into your experience bullets so you clear the ATS easily. Frame your past roles around how many production deployments you successfully managed without crashing the business.
