Job Description & Details
This is a 6-month contract role building modern front-end architectures for a major global financial institution out of East Rutherford. You'll be stepping into a hybrid setup requiring 3 days onsite, working with a massive enterprise codebase where stability and performance are critical.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days designing and building high-performance web applications and reusable UI component libraries that power internal or customer-facing banking platforms. Expect to collaborate heavily with backend engineers and UX teams to translate wireframes into secure, responsive interfaces while tackling bottlenecks and optimizing application performance across various browsers and devices.
The Core Tech Stack
You absolutely need to know React and Angular inside and out, paired with solid JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals, alongside standard HTML5 and CSS3 styling capabilities. The bank heavily values engineers who can bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern component-driven architectures, and having exposure to Python, GenAI, or ML solutions integration on the side will definitely give you an edge.
Interview Expectations
Expect the engineering panel to drill down into your state management strategies and component lifecycle optimization techniques in React and Angular. They'll likely ask you how you would handle rendering massive datasets efficiently in a high-traffic financial app, and they are secretly looking for pragmatic answers that balance clean design patterns with strict enterprise security and performance constraints.
Application Advice
Skip the generic summaries and make sure your resume immediately highlights your production experience with React, TypeScript, and large-scale component architecture. Mirror the exact terms from the tech stack in your employment history, and be ready to talk through specific instances where you optimized UI performance or collaborated across backend and design boundaries.
