Scrum Master - Calypso / Capital Markets

Everforth Quinnox

Job Description & Details

This is a specialized Scrum Master role embedded in the capital markets space, requiring deep domain fluency rather than just agile textbook knowledge. If you do not have hands-on experience with Calypso and financial markets, you will struggle to keep up with the technical nuances here. It is a remote position tied to a New York client, meaning you will need to navigate fast-paced financial tech delivery schedules.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend your days managing project scope and timelines, running daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective sessions, while actively removing blockers for your engineering teams. A major part of the job involves working directly with Product Owners to groom backlogs and handle incoming feature requests without derailing sprint goals. You will also act as the bridge between the technical teams and the client manager, reporting concrete Agile metrics at the end of every sprint cycle.

The Core Tech Stack

The absolute non-negotiable requirement here is Calypso paired with a strong background in Capital Markets. You also need a solid grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and SAFe frameworks. Because the ecosystem relies on automated testing and strict definitions of done, you must understand how software delivery pipelines function in high-compliance financial environments.

Interview Expectations

The hiring manager will likely ask how you handle scope creep when a New York-based stakeholder pushes an urgent trade-processing change mid-sprint. They want to hear how you balance agile principles with the rigid delivery timelines typical of capital markets. Expect a second question diving into your specific experience with Calypso implementations—they are testing to see if you actually understand front-to-back office workflows or if you just know agile buzzwords.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume screams Capital Markets and Calypso right at the top. Do not hide your financial tech experience in a bullet point halfway down the page. Weave keywords like SAFe, backlog refinement, automated testing, and agile metrics naturally into your past roles so the ATS easily flags your domain expertise.
