Job Description & Details
This Vendor Management Analyst role with Systems Engineering Services is a hands-on data crunching and automation gig sitting at the intersection of procurement, finance, and IT. If you enjoy wrangling messy supplier data, building slick dashboards, and automating manual headaches out of existence, this is a solid operational role where your technical output will directly influence executive decision-making.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days knee-deep in spreadsheets, database queries, and BI tools building procurement dashboards, running spend analyses, and tracking contractor metrics. You will act as the right-hand resource for the Vendor Management Office, migration-planning spreadsheet data into centralized applications, investigating data discrepancies or compliance risks, and spinning up Power Automate workflows to cut down repetitive manual tasks.
The Core Tech Stack
To survive and thrive here, you need absolute fluency in advanced Excel, Power BI, and SAP Ariba, alongside data extraction chops using DBeaver. The team relies heavily on these tools to track vendor performance, build spend forecasts, and manage a massive migration of data from flat files into structured enterprise environments. If your toolkit doesn't include robust data reconciliation and workflow automation via MS Power Automate, you'll struggle with the heavy lifting required in this seat.
Interview Expectations
The hiring manager is going to probe hard into your data reconciliation process, so expect a scenario-based question about how you handle finding massive discrepancies between SAP data and decentralized spreadsheets. They want to see that you take ownership of anomalies and proactively solve problems rather than just flagging them. Another common angle will be testing your Power BI architecture decisions and how you translate messy procurement metrics into executive-ready dashboards without clutter.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume heavily features quantifiable metrics around spend analysis, dashboard creation, and specific automation wins using Power Automate. Don't just list Excel as a skill; mention your experience with complex data migrations and managing large vendor data sets in enterprise platforms like Ariba to easily clear the automated ATS filters.
