Job Description & Details
This is an 8-month contract role driving complex data and analytics initiatives within the DataWorks organization. You'll be wrangling cross-functional teams, external vendors, and platform migrations, making it a heavy-hitting gig for someone who knows how to herd technical cats and keep enterprise stakeholders aligned.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days bridging the gap between deep technical teams and executive stakeholders, owning everything from scoping and change control to end-to-end delivery. Your primary challenge involves orchestrating complex integrations across tools like Atlan and Starburst Cloud while tightly coupling project management with DataWorks delivery and Quality Engineering. Expect to run workshops, manage matrixed contractors, and aggressively track requirements traceability to ensure nothing falls through the cracks during data migrations.
The Core Tech Stack
While you won't be writing code, you need a deep fluency in the modern data ecosystem. The team relies heavily on cloud-based data platforms, data engineering pipelines, and tools like Atlan for data governance and Starburst Cloud for analytics. Your success depends on your ability to speak the language of data engineers and architects, pairing your technical literacy with rigorous SDLC and testing lifecycle management.
Interview Expectations
Be prepared for situational questions where the interviewer throws a massive scope creep or vendor integration failure scenario at you and asks how you would handle it. They are looking to see if you can establish operational rigor without drowning the team in bureaucracy, and whether you have the executive presence to push back on stakeholders when timelines and quality collide.
Application Advice
To get past the ATS, make sure your resume heavily features terms like "cross-functional program management," "requirements traceability," "vendor integration," and "SDLC data migrations." Don't just list what projects you managed; highlight specific metrics around how you controlled scope, mitigated risks, and kept complex enterprise deployments on budget and on schedule.
