Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting contract role for a Java and Identity Access Management (IAM) specialist who knows how to build secure, enterprise-grade applications in capital-markets environments. You won't just be pushing features; you'll be deeply embedded in the intersection of microservices development and strict financial security.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to bounce between backend Java/Spring Boot microservices, Angular front-end UIs, and complex enterprise identity setups like WebSEAL or ISAM. You will spend a lot of time ensuring secure authentication flows using JWT, configuring reverse-proxy junctions, and setting up mutual TLS integrations between backend systems. Deployments happen on Red Hat OpenShift, and you will be responsible for validating your pods, checking application logs, and troubleshooting production incidents using Splunk.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute fluency in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate for the backend, alongside Angular, TypeScript, and Bootstrap for the UI layer. Because this is a secure banking ecosystem, deep hands-on experience with REST API security, JWT, and enterprise messaging platforms like ActiveMQ is non-negotiable. Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift, CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins or Azure DevOps, and SQL database management will make or break your day-to-day survival here.
Interview Expectations
The tech lead will likely test your understanding of distributed system security by asking how you would configure mutual TLS and secure reverse-proxy junctions between an API gateway and an internal Spring Boot microservice. They want to see if you understand the handshake mechanics and failure modes. You should also be prepared for deep-dive questions on managing session states and JWT authentication at scale in a containerized OpenShift environment.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume doesn't just list Java and Angular; you need to explicitly highlight your experience with enterprise security, SSO configurations, and IAM gateways like ISAM or WebSEAL if you have them. Pull exact keywords from the job description like 'OpenShift', 'ActiveMQ', 'JWT', and 'mutual TLS' to easily pass the initial automated ATS screening.
