Job Description & Details
This is a solid entry-to-mid level QA role focused entirely on the ServiceNow ecosystem, specifically leveraging the Automated Test Framework (ATF). If you are looking to cement your career in enterprise platform testing rather than writing generic Selenium scripts, this gives you direct exposure to ITSM, ITOM, and custom workflows. You will be joining AgreeYa to ensure their client deployments don't break during upgrades.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will revolve around building, maintaining, and executing automated test suites using ServiceNow ATF, alongside standard manual testing when new configurations drop. You will spend a lot of time validating workflows, catalog items, UI policies, and business rules across major ITSM processes like Incident, Problem, and Change Management. Expect to troubleshoot broken ATF tests after platform upgrades, write test data, log defects in JIRA, and occasionally hit REST endpoints with Postman to ensure integrations are behaving correctly.
The Core Tech Stack
You need hands-on experience with ServiceNow ATF and a solid grasp of core ITSM modules. Having exposure to ITOM, ITAM, or CMDB is a massive plus because clients always want those modules tested during implementation. You should also understand how ServiceNow workflows, client scripts, and UI policies operate under the hood, as debugging a failed test case requires knowing where the platform logic lives.
Interview Expectations
The hiring manager is going to want to know how you handle platform upgrades that inevitably break existing ATF test suites. They will likely ask you to explain a time you troubleshot a complex, failing ATF test case and how you isolated whether the failure was due to a bad script, a UI policy change, or a flawed test step. Make sure you can walk them through your exact debugging methodology inside the ServiceNow UI.
Application Advice
To get past the recruiter screen, ensure your resume explicitly highlights your experience with ServiceNow ATF, JIRA, and specific ITSM modules like Incident or Change Management. Don't just list manual testing; emphasize any automation scripts or reusable test suites you've built within the platform. Weave keywords like 'automated regression testing', 'Service Catalog', and 'Postman API testing' directly into your work history to show you can hit the ground running.
