DevOps Engineer - Healthcare

AaraTech Inc

Job Description & Details

This is a solid mid-level DevOps gig focused on keeping AWS infrastructure humming inside a regulated healthcare space. If you like the idea of building cloud pipelines while navigating compliance without drowning in corporate red tape, this is a great environment to sharpen your engineering chops. You will be knee-deep in daily cloud operations, helping developers ship code safely while making sure patient data remains secure.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will be a mix of provisioning AWS resources, tweaking CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins or GitHub Actions, and wrangling Docker containers. You will spend a fair amount of time troubleshooting why a deployment failed, setting up system monitoring, and making sure our logs give us actual visibility instead of just noise. Because this is healthcare, you will also partner with teams to ensure everything we push touches base with HIPAA compliance and basic security best practices.

The Core Tech Stack

You need to be comfortable living inside AWS—specifically spinning up and managing EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and Lambda. Docker is non-negotiable since containerized deployments are the standard here, and you will need a working knowledge of Linux and shell scripting or Python to automate the tedious stuff. Familiarity with Kubernetes basics and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions will keep you from drowning in manual deployments during your first week.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to test your practical knowledge with a scenario like explaining how you would troubleshoot a sudden spike in 500 errors on a containerized microservice running in AWS. They aren't looking for a textbook answer; they want to hear your step-by-step mental model for checking logs, inspecting container health, and validating network rules. You will also likely be asked how you handle security secrets management in a CI/CD pipeline, where they are secretly evaluating whether you treat security as an afterthought or bake it into your daily workflow from the start.

Application Advice

When tailoring your resume for this role, skip the generic tech buzzwords and front-load your experience with AWS, Docker, and specific CI/CD tools right at the top. Make sure to explicitly mention any exposure you have had to security protocols, logging frameworks, or compliance frameworks like HIPAA, even if it is just basic hardening work. Highlight instances where you automated a manual process using Python or Bash, as the team wants to see that you actively look for ways to reduce toil rather than just waiting for tickets.
