Service Delivery Manager (SDM)

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on delivery role within an Application Security organization where you won't just be facilitating agile ceremonies, but actually owning outcomes from planning to deployment. You'll need to wrangle cross-functional dependencies, push back on engineering assumptions, and keep complex security initiatives moving forward without hiding behind standard scrum processes.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days acting as the glue between Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and security teams to ensure technology initiatives actually cross the finish line. Your morning stand-ups won't be status-update circles; they'll be hard-hitting check-ins focused on unblocking critical dependencies and assigning clear ownership to emerging risks. When cross-team friction happens or technical roadblocks stall progress, you're the one stepping in to constructively challenge assumptions, force decisions, and keep the delivery momentum alive.

The Core Tech Stack

You'll need a rock-solid foundation in agile methodologies paired with rigorous project management discipline—think milestone tracking, dependency mapping, and proactive risk mitigation. While you won't be writing production code, you do need enough technical literacy in software delivery and AppSec architecture to talk shop with senior engineers, understand why an architectural constraint matters, and translate technical jargon into clear business execution plans.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to ask you to walk through a specific time when a major delivery went completely off the rails due to cross-team dependencies and how you personally clawed it back on track. They aren't looking for a textbook agile answer here; they want to see your real-world backbone, your ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority, and how you hold people accountable when deadlines slip. You'll also likely be quizzed on how you balance pragmatic agile execution with strict corporate project governance in high-stakes security environments.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS, your resume needs to heavily feature terms like 'end-to-end delivery,' 'dependency management,' 'risk mitigation,' and 'cross-functional leadership.' Don't just list scrum ceremonies you've facilitated; highlight metrics or stories where your intervention directly improved delivery predictability or rescued a failing technical initiative. Weave these keywords into accomplishment-driven bullets that show you take extreme ownership of the projects you touch.
