Business Operations Specialist - Retirement Services (Scrum Master)

This is a targeted contract role helping a major financial player integrate a recently acquired organization's systems into their own IT ecosystem. If you don't have deep, lived experience in retirement plan administration, you'll be lost; this isn't a generic Agile gig, but rather an SME-driven technical integration.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your primary mission is to act as a hybrid Subject Matter Expert and Scrum Master to steer the data and systems onboarding project. You'll be leading the team through all Agile ceremonies while bridging the gap between technical execution and business operations. Expect to untangle complex operational components like loans, hardships, ERISA regulations, QDIA, and distributions to ensure nothing breaks during the migration.

The Core Tech Stack

You absolutely must bring heavy-hitting, hands-on experience in retirement plan and participant administration record-keeping, specifically with 401(k) and 403(b) plans. While standard Scrum Master certifications and ceremony facilitation are non-negotiable, having an actual technical understanding of data systems and data migration pipelines will make or break your success here.

Be prepared for the hiring manager to throw a complex scenario at you regarding edge cases in participant record-keeping migrations, such as handling ambiguous ERISA compliance issues during a system merge.
