Business Systems Analyst

Roth Staffing

Job Description & Details

This is a solid contract gig for a Business Systems Analyst who actually enjoys bridging the gap between non-technical stakeholders and engineering teams. You'll be knee-deep in requirements gathering and workflow automation, specifically helping streamline access management using SailPoint. If you like untangling messy business processes and turning them into clean, automated workflows, this one's worth looking at.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will be a mix of traditional business analysis and agile coordination. You'll spend a good chunk of your time talking to users, untangling access request bottlenecks, and translating those pain points into user stories and acceptance criteria inside Azure DevOps. You'll also work directly with platform teams to document workflows slated for SailPoint automation, coordinate testing efforts, and manage triage when bugs or blockers pop up.

The Core Tech Stack

You absolutely need a strong background in Agile methodologies, with Microsoft Azure DevOps being the preferred tool of choice here. Experience with enterprise Project and Portfolio Management tools like Planview, OnePlan, or Clarity is a major requirement, and you'll need at least six years of supporting those implementations. Familiarity with SailPoint or similar access management workflow tools will give you a massive head start since documenting automation for that platform is a core piece of the job.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to test your ability to handle vague requirements by asking how you would extract technical user stories from a frustrated stakeholder who only knows they need 'better access control.' They want to see if you can methodically peel back the layers to define actual acceptance criteria. You'll also likely get grilled on your experience with enterprise PPM rollouts and how you've handled cross-functional triage when testing goes off the rails.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume doesn't just list tools, but explicitly highlights your experience writing functional specifications, process flows, and test scripts within an Agile environment. Put terms like 'Azure DevOps,' 'SailPoint,' and specific enterprise PPM tools right at the top so the ATS picks them up immediately. Emphasize your communication skills and how you bridge technical support partners with business users, as customer service acumen is heavily valued here.
