Job Description & Details
This is a solid foundational Business Analyst role that bridges the gap between end users and the technical team. You will spend a lot of time actually talking to stakeholders, writing specs, and handling tier one and two production support rather than just hiding behind a spreadsheet all day.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days interviewing stakeholders, breaking down chaotic business processes, and translating them into actual use cases, user stories, and technical specs. Expect to juggle requirements gathering with troubleshooting production issues, writing test scripts, and occasionally pitching in during weekend deployment releases. It is a hands-on mix of support, analysis, and quality assurance.
The Core Tech Stack
You need a strong grasp of software development lifecycle methodologies, requirements gathering frameworks, and test script execution. Experience in technical documentation, system configuration, and translating nebulous business needs into concrete functional specs is non-negotiable here since the engineering team relies entirely on your clarity to build the right things.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to ask you to walk through a time when a stakeholder gave you completely unclear requirements and how you dug in to find the actual root need. They are secretly looking for your communication style and ability to push back constructively without alienating the business side. You should also be ready to explain how you handle conflicting priorities between urgent production support tickets and ongoing project milestones.
Application Advice
When updating your resume for this role, make sure to highlight specific metrics around the business requirements you have gathered in the past and the functional specs you have authored. Sprinkle in keywords like use cases, user stories, production support, process benchmarking, and test script execution to easily get past the automated screeners and show the recruiter you speak the language of both business and IT.
