Technical Architect

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting Technical Architect role centered entirely around Google Cloud Platform. If you enjoy designing enterprise-scale infrastructure, leading migrations, and telling dev teams why their current setup won't scale, this is your playground.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll be spending your days bridging the gap between high-level business goals and messy technical realities. Expect to architect scalable GCP environments, map out complex cloud migration strategies, and run architectural reviews that actually matter. You won't just be drawing diagrams in Lucidchart; you'll be actively mentoring engineering teams and fighting technical debt to keep cloud costs and performance optimized.

The Core Tech Stack

Google Cloud Platform is non-negotiable here—you need to know its compute, storage, and networking inside and out, ideally backed by a Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification. Beyond GCP, you'll need a deep grasp of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, paired with a solid understanding of cloud security, compliance, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. If you can't spin up secure infrastructure reproducibly via code, you'll struggle in this seat.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring panel to test your real-world battle scars by asking you to design a multi-region, highly available architecture on GCP while keeping egress costs and security tight. They want to see how you handle trade-offs between speed, cost, and reliability. You'll also likely get grilled on a past cloud migration failure—the interviewer isn't trying to trap you, they want to hear how you diagnose distributed system bottlenecks and prevent cascading failures in production.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream GCP and Terraform right at the top. Don't just list technologies; quantify your impact by mentioning scale, dollars saved through cost optimization, or multi-terabyte migrations you've successfully led. Make sure keywords like Google Cloud Platform, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and cloud security are explicitly written into your bullet points so you easily clear the initial ATS screening.
