Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting Senior Test Lead role centered around a major Plex MES rollout. If you haven't managed end-to-end testing for large-scale manufacturing execution systems or ERP integrations before, you are going to find yourself swimming upstream very quickly.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will live and breathe test management, strategy, and cross-functional execution. Your days will involve wrangling SIT, E2E, regression, and UAT testing across both business stakeholders and IT teams. You'll run defect triage meetings, validate massive data conversions, and ensure integrations between Plex, Infor LN, and Windchill don't break the business. When go-live approaches, the leadership team is going to look directly at you for the final go/no-go recommendation and hypercare stabilization support.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute mastery over functional QA testing methodologies within complex enterprise environments, specifically around MES rollouts like Plex. Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, HP UFT/QTP, or VSTS is required, alongside a solid grasp of TDD and automation-first approaches. Because you'll be validating integrations across multiple enterprise platforms, understanding how data flows between disparate supply chain and engineering systems is non-negotiable.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to ask you to describe a time when a critical defect slipped through during UAT right before a major go-live, and how you managed the triage and stakeholder communication without blowing up the timeline. They want to see how you handle intense pressure and whether you can speak fluent business and engineering. Another favorite will be asking how you design a test strategy from scratch for a complex manufacturing software integration like Plex or Infor LN, focusing heavily on risk mitigation and data conversion validation.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume screams enterprise MES and ERP testing leadership rather than just standard web app QA. Highlight explicit metrics around past rollouts—number of UAT users managed, defect closure rates, and specific experience integrating platforms like Plex, LN, or Windchill. If your CV doesn't clearly showcase large-scale test strategy, schedule management, and cross-functional team coordination, the ATS will filter you out before a human ever looks at it.
