Job Description & Details
If you know your way around DoD contracting and have spent time managing complex wireless, telecom, or 5G rollouts, this gig gives you a chance to run a high-visibility project without micro-management. You'll be working in a hybrid setup tied to Fort Bragg, keeping technical teams and government stakeholders aligned on deployment schedules that actually matter.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will revolve around herding engineering cats, managing dependencies, and making sure timelines don't slip. You will be driving status meetings, tracking risks, and mapping out the critical path for technical deployments that cross over into cybersecurity and RMF/ATO compliance. While you won't be configuring radios or writing code, you'll need to translate deep technical conversations with 5G and network engineers into actionable project milestones that military stakeholders can understand.
The Core Tech Stack
While this is a management role rather than an engineering one, you live and die by your familiarity with 5G architectures, private LTE, RAN, 5G Core, and edge computing. The team needs someone who understands how hardware, software, and cybersecurity intersect in secure, tactical environments so you can spot technical roadblocks before they blow up the project schedule.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to test your situational awareness regarding technical dependencies. They'll likely ask how you handle a scenario where a cybersecurity RMF accreditation delay threatens to stall a physical site installation at Fort Bragg. They aren't looking for textbook project management buzzwords; they want to hear how you specifically coordinate across siloed engineering teams, isolate the bottleneck, and brief senior stakeholders without causing panic.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to immediately prove you aren't just an Agile textbook PM, but a technical operator who has dealt with federal or DoD infrastructure. Make sure terms like "5G wireless infrastructure," "Risk Management Framework," "schedule dependencies," and "DoD deployments" are explicitly woven into your work history so you easily clear the ATS filters and grab the recruiter's attention.
