Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty SAP S/4HANA transformation gig requiring someone who can comfortably herd cats across business, functional, and technical teams in a hybrid setup. If you enjoy untangling messy legacy dependencies and driving massive enterprise go-lives without letting scope creep ruin your sanity, this role will keep you on your toes.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll be owning the entire project lifecycle from initial planning all the way through cutover, go-live, and hypercare. Your typical week will involve juggling steering committees, tracking aggressive timelines, managing external vendors, and making sure the technical and functional teams are actually talking to each other. Expect to deal with high-stakes data migration hurdles and sudden scope changes, requiring you to constantly recalibrate resource plans and stakeholder expectations.
The Core Tech Stack
You need a deep, practical understanding of the SAP S/4HANA ecosystem and the SAP Activate methodology, rather than just high-level management buzzwords. The client is looking for someone who has genuinely navigated full implementations and migrations, so you need to speak fluent SAP-ese when coordinating SIT, UAT, and cutover activities. Knowing your way around Agile and Waterfall hybrid delivery models is also a non-negotiable requirement for keeping this ship moving.
Interview Expectations
The hiring manager will likely drill down into your experience handling a severely delayed or over-budget SAP milestone, testing your ability to deliver bad news to executives while presenting a concrete recovery plan. They want to see how you handle stubborn stakeholders and cross-functional friction, so be ready with a specific war story about a chaotic cutover weekend and how you managed the team to the finish line without a complete meltdown.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to scream 'SAP S/4HANA delivery' right at the top so it doesn't get swallowed by the ATS. Make sure to explicitly include keywords like 'SAP Activate', 'Cutover Planning', 'SIT/UAT', and 'Stakeholder Management' in your recent experience bullets. Don't just list your past job titles; quantify the scale of the implementations you've managed, including budget sizes and team headcounts, to prove you can handle enterprise-grade complexity.
