This is a heavy-hitting contract role for a seasoned Vertex consultant who knows EMEA tax regulations inside and out. You'll be dropping into a complex Oracle Cloud ERP environment to fix, build, and scale global tax automation until mid-2027.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend your days acting as the bridge between multinational finance stakeholders and technical tax infrastructure. Expect to lead Vertex implementations, configure complex cross-border VAT and GST tax determination rules, and troubleshoot calculation failures between Oracle Cloud ERP and the Vertex engine. You'll be writing functional specs, driving SIT/UAT cycles, and ensuring compliance across shifting European jurisdictions without breaking production.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute mastery over Vertex O Series implementation and Oracle ERP Tax Integration. Deep, practical knowledge of EMEA indirect taxation, VAT compliance, and cross-border tax matrices is non-negotiable here. If you haven't configured tax engines inside Oracle Cloud Financials for multinational orgs, this engagement will move way too fast for comfort.
Interview Expectations
They're going to test your depth immediately by asking how you handle complex tax jurisdiction conflicts in a multi-subsidiary EMEA setup, specifically when Oracle ERP passes ambiguous transactional data to Vertex. The hiring manager wants to see if you can troubleshoot architectural integration bottlenecks on the fly without halting month-end close.
