Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on ServiceNow role where you will not just be keeping the lights on across Dev, Test, and Prod, but actively building out integrations and multi-cloud workflows. If you enjoy wrangling complex enterprise service management platforms and automating away manual pain points, this gig gives you the autonomy to actually get things done.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days managing the full lifecycle of ServiceNow environments—handling everything from routine clones and system updates to pushing out security changes and new configurations. Beyond standard admin tasks, you will be elbow-deep in creating custom forms, building workflows, and stitching together cloud and third-party integrations. A big focus here is leveraging the ServiceNow toolset to automate processes and build a unified framework for multi-cloud resource provisioning and governance, meaning you'll need to collaborate with teams to translate requirements into scalable platform features.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep, battle-tested experience managing a large-scale ServiceNow environment paired with a solid grasp of ITSM frameworks. Beyond native platform knowledge, you must be comfortable with Server API Development and PowerShell scripting to pull off the custom integrations and automation this team is driving. If you treat ServiceNow like a serious application platform rather than just a ticketing tool, you'll fit right in.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to test your operational knowledge with a scenario like: 'Walk us through your strategy for handling a botched update set promotion in production during a busy release window.' They are looking for your risk mitigation mindset and how you handle rollback strategies under pressure. You will also likely be grilled on integration patterns, so be ready to explain how you would securely connect an external cloud API to ServiceNow using Scripted REST APIs and PowerShell, showing you know how to handle authentication and error handling gracefully.
Application Advice
Skip the generic resume summary and make sure your experience with large-scale ServiceNow implementations jumps off the page immediately. Explicitly highlight your work with ITSM, Server API Development, and PowerShell automation so you clear the ATS keyword filters. Back up your technical claims by mentioning specific instances where you built complex workflows or managed multi-environment release cycles without breaking production.
