Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty 12-month contract role sitting in Pontiac, MI, where you will act as the bridge between various IT infrastructure groups and the ServiceNow platform. If you enjoy untangling complex operational workflows across networking, telephony, and endpoint services without getting bogged down in corporate bureaucracy, this gig will keep you busy. You will be knee-deep in data analysis, writing technical specs, and making sure infrastructure projects don't derail.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will involve coordinating heavily with Infrastructure Services teams—ranging from Server and Workstation groups to O365 and VoIP Telecommunications. You are not just writing requirements; you are expected to take ownership of project assignments from conception through testing, implementation, and user training. Expect to draft RFPs, map out contract scopes of deliverables, and figure out why data is failing to sync properly across different IT silos.
The Core Tech Stack
ServiceNow is your bread and butter here, specifically focusing on integrations and modules like Asset Management, Inventory Management, CMDB discovery, and Webex integration. You need to know how the ServiceNow CMDB actually behaves in the real world when it hits messy enterprise infrastructure, rather than just knowing how to click around the UI. A solid grasp of ITIL processes and the analytical chops to reverse-engineer broken data flows will save you here.
Interview Expectations
The hiring manager is likely going to drill down into your experience with CMDB discovery failures and how you handle botched ServiceNow integrations. They want to hear about a specific time you walked into a messy IT environment, mapped out the dependencies, and successfully deployed an asset or inventory management module without breaking existing workflows.
Application Advice
Do not just list ServiceNow on your resume; explicitly highlight your hands-on experience with Webex integrations, CMDB discovery, and asset management modules to get past the ATS keyword filters. Make sure your resume emphasizes your experience writing technical specifications, handling RFPs, and working directly with infrastructure teams rather than pure development.
