Azure DevOps Lead

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting Azure DevOps Lead role focused on building out enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure through rigorous Infrastructure as Code. You will be sitting squarely at the intersection of cloud operations, security, and developer enablement, dealing with multi-cloud environments where Azure is the main event and GCP is the supporting act. If you enjoy wrangling complex networking, hardening Linux/Windows systems, and writing clean Terraform rather than clicking around cloud consoles, this gig will keep you legitimately challenged.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will involve translating high-level platform roadmaps into reliable pipelines and bulletproof Terraform code. You'll spend a lot of time architecting Azure networking components like VNets, NSGs, and firewalls, while also automating compliance checks so security policies aren't an afterthought. Expect to collaborate heavily with developers to streamline their CI/CD workflows using Jenkins, Ansible, and Azure DevOps, and don't be surprised if you have to troubleshoot a pesky container orchestration issue in Kubernetes or Helm before lunch.

The Core Tech Stack

To survive and thrive here, you need absolute mastery over Terraform and Infrastructure as Code—this isn't a role where you can fake your state file management. You also need deep, production-level battle scars with Azure cloud services, networking fundamentals, and Linux server administration. Toss in some solid scripting chops in Python, Bash, or PowerShell, alongside working knowledge of GCP, Jenkins, and Kubernetes, and you've got the exact toolkit they're relying on to drive their enterprise cloud transformation.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to throw a nasty scenario your way about managing state drift and modularizing complex Terraform code across multiple cloud environments, where they'll be secretly looking to see if you understand dependency management or just copy-paste modules from the registry. You'll likely also get grilled on Azure networking and security hardening; be ready to walk them through how you would troubleshoot a silent packet drop across a peered VNet with overlapping NSGs while keeping compliance guardrails intact.

Application Advice

Skip the generic objectives and tailor your resume to scream 'Infrastructure as Code practitioner.' Make sure your bullet points explicitly highlight enterprise Azure deployments, complex Terraform module design, and specific CI/CD pipeline optimizations using tools like Jenkins and Azure DevOps. If you've successfully migrated workloads or automated security compliance policies in past roles, put those metrics front and center to immediately clear their ATS filters.
