Senior Engineering Project/Program Manager III

DTNA

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting PMO contract role centered around a massive manufacturing facility build-out, requiring you to wrangle schedules, budgets, and contractors without dropping the ball. If you enjoy the messy reality of large-scale capital projects—where construction, procurement, and commissioning all collide—this gig will keep you fully engaged.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your days will be a mix of keeping the project controls engine running and bridging the gap between field contractors and executive leadership. You will live inside integrated project schedules, tracking critical-path activities, managing CAPEX/OPEX forecasts, and pulling together executive dashboards that cut through the noise. Expect to herd cats across cross-functional teams, run governance meetings, and aggressively track action items, risks, and change requests so nothing slips through the cracks.

The Core Tech Stack

While this isn't a coding role, your technical stack consists of heavy-duty project management and control tools. You need absolute mastery of Microsoft Project for building realistic, dependency-laden schedules, and advanced Excel for financial tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis. PowerPoint and SharePoint are your daily drivers for packaging complex construction metrics into clean, audit-ready updates for leadership.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to test your ability to handle project recovery when a major milestone is suddenly delayed by supply chain issues or contractor bottlenecks. They aren't looking for textbook answers; they want to hear how you systematically identify constraints, evaluate critical-path impacts, and deliver hard truths to stakeholders. You'll also likely be grilled on your hands-on experience with cost tracking and CAPEX forecasting for industrial or manufacturing builds, so have a specific war story ready about how you salvaged a budget that was going sideways.

Application Advice

To make it past the ATS, your resume needs to explicitly feature keywords like project controls, critical-path, CAPEX/OPEX forecasting, and risk management right near the top. Don't just list your past job titles; quantify your impact by mentioning the scale of the capital budgets you've managed and the size of the manufacturing or facility projects you've delivered. Make it immediately obvious that you know how to build audit-ready documentation and translate chaotic job-site data into executive-level reports.
