Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting architecture role focused entirely on leading a complex migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. You will be the technical anchor guiding stakeholders through the trenches of Record-to-Report transformations, making sure the target system configurations don't break the business.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will involve hands-on configuration of the SAP S/4HANA target system, mapping out data migration strategies, and quarterbacking cutover activities. You are expected to step in as the subject matter expert who can wrangle complex product costing, material ledger mechanics, and core financials without blinking, while keeping executive stakeholders aligned on the SAP Activate roadmap.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep, battle-tested expertise in the SAP S/4HANA RTR workstream, covering everything from General Ledger and Asset Accounting to advanced Product Costing and Margin Analysis. Mastery of the SAP Activate methodology and a solid grasp of Material Ledger integration points with MM, PP, and SD are non-negotiable because the architectural integrity of the entire financial supply chain rests on how well these modules talk to each other.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to grill you on handling data reconciliation discrepancies during a high-stakes ECC to S/4HANA migration cutover weekend. They are looking to see if you have the operational scars to troubleshoot data mapping failures under tight timelines without panicking. You will also likely be asked to walk through a complex Material Ledger implementation scenario to prove you understand the underlying accounting impacts.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume screams 'S/4HANA Migration Lead' right at the top, rather than just reading like a generic support ticket history. Explicitly highlight keywords like SAP Activate, Margin Analysis, Material Ledger, and end-to-end ECC migrations so you clear the automated filters and prove to the hiring manager you have run these specific gauntlets before.
