Senior Epicor ERP Consultant / SME

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting senior technical and functional role focused entirely on wrangling, upgrading, and custom-building within Epicor ERP environments. If you live and breathe BAQs, BPMs, and keeping complex manufacturing supply chains from stalling, this is a solid gig to sink your teeth into.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your days will be split between fighting fires and building out long-term improvements. You'll jump in on L2/L3 support tickets when inventory or MRP workflows break, but you'll also lead major upgrade initiatives from legacy versions up to Kinetic/11. Expect to collaborate heavily with plant managers and finance folks who broke something in a custom form, translating their complaints into actual root-cause fixes and system optimizations.

The Core Tech Stack

You're going to need deep, battle-tested expertise in Epicor (Vantage through Kinetic), paired with strong Microsoft SQL Server administration and performance tuning. Customizations are baked into this role, meaning you must be comfortable slinging C# or VB.NET for complex BPMs, building out REST API integrations, and generating SSRS or Crystal Reports that stakeholders actually understand. Knowing your way around Service Connect and SSIS will save you tons of headaches here.

Interview Expectations

They are going to test your ability to think on your feet when an MRP calculation goes sideways or a heavy-duty BAQ brings the SQL database to a crawl. Be ready for questions walking through how you've optimized indexing or handled sticky post-implementation stabilization phases during a major version upgrade. The hiring manager is secretly checking to see if you can talk to a non-technical plant floor manager without sounding condescending while also holding your own against a database bottleneck.

Application Advice

Don't just list 'Epicor' on your resume and call it a day. You need to explicitly highlight the number of installations or upgrades you've touched, your fluency in writing custom BAQs and BPMs, and any specific manufacturing modules (like Job Management or MES) you've configured. Weave in keywords like Kinetic, REST APIs, SSRS, and SQL performance tuning so your resume easily punches through the ATS filters.
