Business Analyst Treasury Operational Gap Remediations

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty Discovery phase role focused on documenting AS-IS Treasury operations, system functionality, and business rules across legacy applications. If you enjoy untangling complex financial workflows with sparse documentation and bridging the gap between business SMEs and tech teams, this long-term gig is right in your wheelhouse.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend a significant amount of your time running stakeholder interviews and working sessions with Finance SMEs and engineering teams to map out end-to-end processes, data flows, and system dependencies. Your main challenge will be dealing with limited or incomplete existing documentation, meaning you will need to independently investigate cross-system handoffs and functional overlaps, then translate those findings into crystal-clear bilingual (English and Spanish) documentation.

The Core Tech Stack

While this is a functional role rather than a pure coding gig, you must bring deep expertise in finance process knowledge, workflow mapping, and control analysis. The golden ticket here is prior experience with Polypath; being able to actually review Polypath code and unpack its business logic will make you invaluable to this team since current-state behavior is often buried directly in legacy codebases.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to test your investigative grit by asking how you handle documenting a complex financial workflow when the existing documentation is completely outdated or missing entirely. They want to hear about your specific strategy for identifying system dependencies, mapping cross-application handoffs, and extracting tacit knowledge from resistant or busy subject matter experts. They will also likely test your bilingual capabilities on the spot to ensure you can seamlessly facilitate workshops and produce technical documentation in both English and Spanish.

Application Advice

Skip the generic project management fluff on your resume and focus squarely on your hands-on business analysis background within finance or treasury operations. Make sure keywords like Discovery phase, AS-IS assessment, cross-system analysis, and functional documentation are front and center, and explicitly highlight any legacy system analysis or code-review experience you possess, especially if you have ever touched Polypath or similar treasury valuation engines.
