Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting SAP EWM implementation and support role embedded in a strictly regulated life sciences environment in Bridgewater, NJ. You will be bridging the gap between warehouse logistics and process manufacturing, meaning you need to know your way around compliant supply chains without constant hand-holding.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend your days configuring and troubleshooting core EWM processes—think inbound and outbound deliveries, putaway, picking, and handling unit management—while tightly integrating them with SAP PP-PI and Quality Management. A massive part of this gig involves managing material staging for production, handling component consumption, and ensuring strict batch management and expiry controls. You'll be collaborating directly with manufacturing, QA/QC, and MES teams to iron out material flow roadblocks and keep shop-floor operations compliant and moving.
The Core Tech Stack
Your bread and butter here needs to be SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) with deep expertise in SAP EWM Integration, specifically tied to SAP PP-PI (Process Industries). Because this is a life sciences context, knowing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) isn't optional; you have to understand batch traceability, quarantine processes, and shelf-life monitoring inside and out. If you haven't configured warehouse-to-production material movements or managed inspection lots within a validated environment, you'll struggle to keep up.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to press you on how you handle tricky EWM-PP-PI integration edge cases, such as a production material request failing mid-staging due to a batch mismatch or a quality inspection hold. They want to hear methodical troubleshooting steps that prioritize compliance, audit readiness, and zero downtime on the manufacturing line. They will likely also test your depth on Handling Unit (HU) management and physical inventory adjustments within regulated pharmaceutical or biotech spaces.
Application Advice
To get past the ATS and grab the recruiter's attention, make sure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on configuration experience with SAP EWM, PP-PI, and GMP compliance. Don't just list buzzwords; write brief, impact-driven sentences detailing how you've handled end-to-end traceability, batch management, and integration with quality systems like eLIMS or MES. Since this role is W2 only, clearly state your work authorization status right at the top.
