Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty migration and infrastructure role where you'll be leading the charge in shifting legacy on-prem setups over to AWS EKS. If you enjoy solving complex container orchestration puzzles and want to push an engineering org toward fully automated GitOps workflows, this gig is right up your alley.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend your days migrating workloads without dropping packets, building self-service internal tooling so devs can ship code without pinging you every five minutes, and managing complex Kubernetes schedulers. Expect to untangle messy CI/CD pipelines, optimize cluster performance, and set up rock-solid observability to catch issues before production takes a hit.
The Core Tech Stack
You'll need deep, production-level expertise in Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and Terraform, because writing infrastructure-as-code is the baseline here. ArgoCD is also mandatory since they are shifting hard into GitOps, so knowing how to manage declarative continuous delivery models will keep you from drowning in manual deployments.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to grill you on how you handle zero-downtime migrations when underlying data structures are shifting between on-prem and cloud. They want to see how you troubleshoot tricky networking or storage bottlenecks under pressure. Be ready to explain a time you optimized a bloated CI/CD build pipeline and the exact metrics you used to prove the speedup.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume highlights specific migration projects where you took ownership of Terraform modules and Kubernetes clusters, rather than just listing tools. Weave in keywords like ArgoCD, GitOps workflows, and observability pipelines to make sure you clear the ATS filters and catch the eye of the engineering leads.
