Senior Security Engineer & Risk Assessment Specialist

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty infrastructure and security role that sits right at the intersection of network architecture, cloud operations, and compliance. You will spend a lot of time reviewing risk, configuring enterprise firewalls, and making sure complex cloud environments don't leak data. If you enjoy deep-dive security assessments and managing heavy-hitting hardware, this contract will keep you busy.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your days will be split between hands-on security evaluations, vulnerability assessments, and hardening enterprise infrastructure. You'll be dealing with Palo Alto firewalls, F5 BIG-IP appliances, and Cisco gear while keeping an eye on cloud workloads in AWS and Azure. Expect to review system configurations against strict frameworks like NIST and CIS, run computer forensics when things go sideways, and ensure state-level compliance guidelines are strictly followed.

The Core Tech Stack

You need a deep, battle-tested background in enterprise networking and security platforms. We are talking about deep fluency in Palo Alto Next-Gen Firewalls, Cisco ASA routers and switches, and F5 BIG-IP modules. On top of that, you must have solid experience locking down Microsoft Active Directory, navigating AWS serverless environments, managing Azure PaaS, and securing Linux and Windows servers. Having a CISSP or CISA isn't just a nice-to-have here; it's the baseline entry ticket.

Interview Expectations

Be ready to walk through a complex firewall configuration or troubleshooting scenario involving asymmetric routing on Palo Alto or F5 load balancing issues, as the hiring manager wants to see how you troubleshoot under pressure. They will also drill down into your experience with NIST or CIS frameworks, so be prepared to explain a time you identified a critical security risk in a cloud environment and walked stakeholders through the remediation steps.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume doesn't just list technologies, but explicitly highlights your seven years of vulnerability assessment experience and enterprise network architecture. Put your CISSP or CISA right at the top, and explicitly mention keywords like 'SAM Section 5300', 'Palo Alto', 'F5 BIG-IP', and 'AWS/Azure' to ensure your profile clears the automated filters.
