MAOP Records Research and Reconfirmation Specialist

Williams Companies

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty technical records and compliance role supporting Williams Companies' Pipeline Safety and MAOP Reconfirmation Program out of Houston. Forget traditional document control; you are going to be critically analyzing historical engineering records, strength tests, and material specs for over 200 pipeline sites to ensure regulatory compliance. If you know your way around PHMSA rules and pipeline integrity data, this gig is a massive opportunity to shape actual project execution.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will involve digging through historical pipeline records, engineering drawings, and construction docs to determine Traceable, Verifiable, and Complete (TVC) status. You'll spend a lot of time identifying missing documentation, correlating records to exact pipeline locations, and figuring out where compliance gaps exist. When you find discrepancies, you will collaborate with GIS and engineering teams to build out work scopes, submit service requests, and prep sites for field activities like ECDA.

The Core Tech Stack

You need a solid engineering or drafting background to accurately interpret complex pipeline drawings, alignment sheets, and historical construction records. Mastery of electronic document management systems (like ARAS, Aconex, or RIM) and advanced Excel is non-negotiable for tracking these massive datasets. Familiarity with GIS mapping tools, linear referencing, and PHMSA regulatory standards will keep you from drowning in the sheer volume of documentation across these 200+ sites.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to test your deep understanding of TVC requirements by asking you to walk through a scenario where historical pressure test records are partially illegible or missing key parameters. They want to see how you technically evaluate risk and determine whether a site can be reconfirmed or needs a brand-new strength test. You should also be ready to explain how you handle conflicting data between old pipeline alignment drawings and newer GIS asset records.

Application Advice

Skip the generic administrative resume and heavily emphasize your technical pipeline integrity experience, specifically mentioning any hands-on work with TVC evaluations, hydrostatic testing records, and PHMSA regulations. Make sure keywords like MAOP reconfirmation, pipeline safety compliance, technical drawing interpretation, and GIS data alignment are front and center so you easily punch through the ATS filters and land on the engineering manager's desk.
