Sustainability Specialist

Everforth Apex

Job Description & Details

This contract role is all about wrangling corporate ESG data and turning it into bulletproof disclosures for investors and regulators. If you enjoy deep-dive benchmarking and translating complex environmental metrics into polished reports, this gig gives you a direct hand in shaping a major corporate sustainability narrative.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend a good chunk of your day collating information on climate-related risks, tracking down data across departments, and making sure everything aligns with heavy-hitting disclosure frameworks. Expect to draft and maintain content for sustainability portals, clean up draft disclosures by closing out stakeholder comments, and run ad-hoc research projects when new reporting demands pop up. It's heavily focused on cross-functional synthesis, meaning you'll need to chase down data and make sure it's accurate and audit-ready.

The Core Tech Stack

You won't be writing code here, but you will need intermediate to advanced MS Office skills and heavy fluency in corporate data management systems to benchmark and synthesize information. More importantly, your actual "stack" is a deep working knowledge of frameworks like SASB, ISSB, GRI, TCFD, CSRD, and Ipieca. The team needs someone who already speaks the language of greenhouse gas emissions, environmental stewardship, and social capital without needing hand-holding on the regulatory landscape.

Interview Expectations

The hiring manager will likely test your ability to translate dense, highly technical regulatory jargon into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders, perhaps by asking you to explain a complex CSRD or TCFD requirement to a hypothetical board member. They'll also want to hear about a time you tracked down messy corporate data from disparate sources and whipped it into a compliant, defensible metric under a tight deadline, so be ready with a concrete war story about managing an audit or public disclosure cycle.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume doesn't just list generic environmental science terms; you need to explicitly feature the exact acronyms mentioned in the job description like SASB, GRI, TCFD, and CSRD to easily clear the ATS filters. Highlight your direct experience working within a multi-national organization on corporate disclosures, and make sure your metrics-driven achievements—like managing greenhouse gas inventories or streamlining ESG data collection—are front and center.
