Call Center / Licensing Support (Junior level)

Wind River

Job Description & Details

This junior-level call center and licensing support role puts you right at the intersection of customer service and technical troubleshooting for embedded systems and cloud software. If you enjoy untangling support tickets, handling multi-channel customer inquiries, and figuring out why a license file isn't generating, this 12+ month contract offers a great foot in the door with an industry leader.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days managing an incoming stream of calls, emails, and chats from global customers and internal teams. Your core duties involve triaging support requests, routing cases to the right engineers, generating software license files, and providing first-line technical support for license servers and client-side issues. Expect to juggle Salesforce Service Cloud administration, manage your work queue against strict SLAs, and coordinate directly with account teams to unblock client issues.

The Core Tech Stack

You don't need to be a hardcore developer for this gig, but you do need solid foundational tech skills. Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems along with general networking concepts is an absolute must since you'll be troubleshooting license server environments. Experience with Flexera (Flexlm) licensing technology, Salesforce, and Oracle will give you a massive edge and save you from a steep learning curve during onboarding.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to test your de-escalation skills with a scenario like, "How do you handle an irate customer whose production environment is down because of a licensing error?" They want to see that you can stay calm, methodically gather technical details, and drive toward a resolution without panicking. You'll also likely get grilled on your basic networking and OS troubleshooting skills to prove you can actually diagnose a technical snag rather than just clicking buttons.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS, make sure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on experience with customer-facing support roles, ticketing systems, and any exposure to CRM platforms like Salesforce. Don't bury your technical skills—clearly list your proficiency with Windows, Linux, and networking fundamentals. If you've touched Flexera or any software licensing tools in the past, put those right at the top of your skills section.
