Field Marketing Manager - SLED

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a tactical, execution-heavy field marketing role focused entirely on keeping the SLED (State, Local, and Education) pipeline moving for the second half of the year. You won't be building campaigns from scratch; instead, you will own the logistical heavy lifting of getting tradeshows, webinars, and executive dinners actually executed alongside a distributed sales team. If you like operations, vendor management, and event coordination without the ambiguity of strategy creation, this contract is a solid fit.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your days will be consumed by bridging the gap between sales and marketing by making sure events actually happen on time and under budget. You will handle everything from onsite execution and registration management to vendor negotiations and tracking attendance metrics. Expect to coordinate heavily with Marketing Operations and Corporate teams to ensure invitations go out, follow-ups happen, and basic reporting gets delivered to stakeholders without a hitch.

The Core Tech Stack

You need to already know your way around the standard B2B marketing stack because there won't be time for onboarding onto basic tools. Salesforce and Tableau are absolute musts for tracking your event ROI and pipeline contribution, while platforms like Goldcast will be your go-to for virtual and hybrid events. Having a solid grip on Google Workspace and corporate procurement workflows will keep you from getting bogged down in internal red tape.

Interview Expectations

The hiring manager is going to want to hear war stories about times you managed multiple chaotic event logistics simultaneously without dropping the ball. They will likely ask you how you handle a vendor failing last minute or a sales team failing to drive attendance to an expensive executive dinner. Don't give textbook answers; explain your exact framework for triage, stakeholder communication, and keeping your cool when a live event goes sideways.

Application Advice

To get past the recruiter screen, make sure your resume explicitly highlights words like 'event execution,' 'SLED marketing,' 'vendor management,' and 'Salesforce' right at the top. Don't waste space talking about high-level brand strategy; lean heavily into metrics, project management capabilities, and your direct experience working alongside B2B sales reps.
