Senior Cloud Security Engineer

ERP Analysts, Inc.

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on 12-month contract role based onsite in Mechanicsville, VA, helping secure large-scale cloud infrastructure for a state agency. If you know your way around enterprise cloud architectures and want to spend your days knee-deep in IAM, network security, and compliance frameworks, this gig offers a solid runway to make a tangible impact.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll be acting as the senior technical voice for cloud security, bridging the gap between cloud engineers, network teams, and leadership. Expect to spend your time designing secure landing zones, tuning monitoring and vulnerability management tools, and hardening cloud services against modern threats. You will constantly collaborate across silos to ensure that DevOps pipelines and application deployments don't bypass enterprise security guardrails.

The Core Tech Stack

To survive here, you need a deep background in Enterprise Cloud environments coupled with heavy-duty Enterprise Cloud Security experience. You must intimately understand Identity and Access Management (IAM), network security topologies, and automated security monitoring tools. The team relies on your ability to implement governance guardrails without grinding feature velocity to a halt, so deep familiarity with compliance frameworks and cloud-native security postures is mandatory.

Interview Expectations

Expect them to grill you on how you handle a sprawling, multi-account cloud environment where developers keep bypassing IAM best practices. The hiring manager wants to see how you balance strict security compliance with practical developer enablement. You will likely also be asked to walk through a time you handled a cloud-based security incident from detection to remediation, focusing on your log analysis capabilities and containment strategy.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream cloud security governance, not just general IT support. Make sure to prominently feature keywords like "Enterprise Cloud Security", "IAM", "Vulnerability Management", and "Incident Response" to clear their initial ATS filters. Since this is an onsite role in Virginia, ensure your location or willingness to relocate locally is crystal clear right at the top of your resume.
