Job Description & Details
This is a solid 6-month contract role for an IT Project Manager who knows their way around heavy enterprise infrastructure, cloud migrations, and network engineering. You will be juggling multiple concurrent technical initiatives in Las Vegas, so you'll need to hit the ground running without much hand-holding.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your days will involve acting as the glue between specialized engineering pods—covering everything from data center operations and security hardening to cloud engineering and firewall migrations. You'll draft project plans, wrangle dependencies, manage risk registers, and drive teams toward delivery milestones. Expect to spend a good chunk of your time breaking down massive, ambiguous infrastructure upgrades into manageable Agile or hybrid sprints, while keeping stakeholders from all corners of the business informed and aligned.
The Core Tech Stack
You don't need to write code or configure firewalls yourself, but you must speak the language of infrastructure. A deep foundational grasp of LAN/WAN architectures, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), data center cutovers, load balancing, and security protocols is non-negotiable. If you can't hold your own in a technical sync with network engineers or DevOps leads regarding system storage and security, you'll struggle to keep these complex dependencies unblocked.
Interview Expectations
The hiring manager is going to test how you handle chaos and cross-functional friction. They will likely ask you to describe a time a critical infrastructure project went off the rails due to a delayed vendor or technical roadblock, and how you got it back on schedule without burning out your team. They are secretly looking for your methodology around risk mitigation and how you balance aggressive timelines with technical debt. They'll also want an example of how you translate deep technical jargon into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
Application Advice
When tailoring your resume for this gig, skip the generic project management fluff and lean hard into the technical specifics. Make sure keywords like "data center migration," "firewall migration," "cloud infrastructure," and "risk register" are front and center. Highlight projects where you successfully managed multiple concurrent infrastructure workstreams, as the ability to context-switch across network engineering and security domains is exactly what the ATS and the hiring team are filtering for.
