Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty multi-cloud engineering gig where you'll be managing infrastructure that has to meet strict federal security baselines. If you enjoy untangling complex IAM policies and locking down multi-cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP while keeping auditors happy, this 12-month contract is right up your alley.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will involve wrangling cloud resources, building out Infrastructure as Code, and making sure automated deployments don't break compliance guardrails. You'll spend a good chunk of your time collaborating with security teams and government stakeholders to troubleshoot infrastructure bottlenecks, investigate incidents, and ensure workloads are fully aligned with FedRAMP High and NIST frameworks without sacrificing operational speed.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep, battle-tested experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure, because the client isn't sticking to just one ecosystem. On top of that, you'll need a solid grasp of IAM configurations, cloud networking, and CI/CD pipeline integrations. Because this is heavily regulated federal work, your ability to write clean documentation and enforce Infrastructure as Code principles is just as critical as your knack for fixing production outages.
Interview Expectations
Expect them to throw a complex multi-region architecture scenario at you, asking how you would enforce FedRAMP High compliance while keeping a CI/CD pipeline moving fast. The hiring manager is secretly testing to see if you panic when security constraints clash with deployment deadlines, or if you can methodically balance compliance with pragmatic engineering. They will also likely drill down into how you manage least-privilege access across AWS, GCP, and Azure simultaneously.
Application Advice
Skip the generic cloud buzzwords and put your actual multi-cloud deployments front and center on your resume. Make sure to explicitly highlight your hands-on work with FedRAMP High, NIST guidelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools to get past the automated filters. If you have specific examples of locking down IAM roles or building secure CI/CD pipelines for government or highly regulated enterprise clients, spell those out clearly.
