Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on, execution-heavy contractor role keeping Rubrik's SLED (State, Local, and Education) marketing engine humming. If you like strategy meetings where nothing gets built, look elsewhere; this job is about running logistics, shipping swag, managing tradeshows, and making sure the sales reps have the collateral and events they need to close deals in the public sector.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will be a mix of project management, vendor coordination, and putting out fires across multiple regional campaigns. You'll take pre-planned 2H marketing initiatives and actually execute them—handling tradeshow booths, organizing executive dinners, setting up webinars, and wrangling registrations. You will act as the glue between the field sales teams, marketing ops, and channel partners, tracking everything from invite lists to post-event metrics without missing a beat.
The Core Tech Stack
You don't need to write code here, but you must know your way around modern marketing and sales tooling. Salesforce and Tableau are critical for tracking pipeline and pulling event metrics, while familiarity with virtual event platforms like Goldcast will keep your webinars from looking amateur. Rubrik also relies heavily on Google Workspace and various corporate procurement systems, so being organized and tech-literate with internal ops software is non-negotiable.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to grill you on your project management scars—specifically asking about a time an event went off the rails and how you salvaged it. They want to see how you handle chaotic vendor relationships, budget tracking under tight deadlines, and pushback from impatient sales reps. They're secretly testing your stress tolerance and your ability to execute autonomously without someone holding your hand.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume screams "logistical wizard" rather than just high-level strategist. Highlight any past roles where you directly supported SLED or B2B tech sales, and explicitly drop keywords like Salesforce, event logistics, cross-functional collaboration, and budget management to get past the automated filters.
