Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty federal consulting gig supporting the FDA through SAS Global Services, requiring you to navigate complex Oracle R12 environments and government-specific financial constraints. You'll need deep domain expertise in federal accounting rules, and you must have lived in the US for the last 5 years to qualify for the public trust clearance. If you know PRISM, IPP, and federal admin modules inside and out, you will save this team a lot of headaches.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will revolve around untangling thorny interface issues between Oracle EBS and third-party systems like PRISM and IPP. You'll be troubleshooting data integrity across Purchasing, Payables, Receivables, and Subledger Accounting, while also gathering requirements for new integrations and rolling up your sleeves for system testing and tier support. Expect to field urgent production issues from end users, translate their business pain into functional designs, and keep the tech leads looped in when legacy government workflows inevitably clash with modern expectations.
The Core Tech Stack
Oracle EBS R12 is the undisputed heart of this role, and you cannot fake your way through it. You need a rock-solid understanding of Oracle table structures to write your own queries and debug interface failures without leaning on a DBA for every little thing. Mastery of core financial and procurement modules like GL, AP, AR, Purchasing, and SLA is a baseline requirement, but having hands-on exposure to niche federal tools like PRISM, IPP, and Travel interfaces is what will actually set you apart here.
Interview Expectations
The interviewers are going to poke hard at your troubleshooting methodology for broken interfaces. Expect a scenario where a payment or purchasing interface fails downstream, and they will want you to walk step-by-step through how you inspect the underlying Oracle base tables, concurrent requests, and SLA logs to diagnose the root cause. They are secretly testing whether you can operate autonomously without breaking the strict compliance and audit requirements inherent in federal accounting.
Application Advice
Do not just drop buzzwords like 'Oracle EBS' on your resume and hope for the best; you need to explicitly call out your hands-on experience with R12 federal modules, specifically naming PRISM, IPP, and Subledger Accounting if you have touched them. Make sure to highlight your end-to-end implementation and production support background in government sectors to prove you understand public trust constraints and can easily pass the 5-year US residency check.
